Georges Agbazahou

Georges Agbazahou is a multitalented artist: percussionist, Pan African dancer (with abilities to dance with traditional stilts, fire and acrobatics), choreographer, art director, designer of batik, puppeteer of traditional African marionettes.

His education is from the Academy of traditional dance and percussion in Mali, Carrefur des Jeunes du Mali where he has received a Carte de member, the highest recommendation and recognition from the Academy. He has an A-level in English and French from Ghana Institute of languages and has been recognized and received recommendations from the Cultural Ministry of Benin and UNESCO for his cultural works.

Georges is the initiator and artistic director of the Ballet CLAN, Contes et Légendes d’Afrique Noire, and has the position of Managing Director of the association CLAN. He is also the initiator and Managing Director of the organization FESTIMARCH, Festival International de Marionettes Contes et Humour. He has done a lot of professional but also voluntary work, for example artistic education for children in need in Benin, Mali, Guinea, Niger, The Ivory Coast, Burkina-Faso and Togo.

He has a broad area of expertise, but through his travel he has developed his most striking talent: his ability to teach, understand and communicate beyond borders.

In Finland he was invited to hold guest lectures and workshops at the Sibelius-Academy in 2011.
